The trek starts from Meli, West Sikkim. In the early 1970s, a severe thunderstorm struck the entire area at the top. In that incident, all trees in the area got burnt. The entire area is now in absolute ruin. The eerie stillness in the woods conjures an uncanny outlook on the top.
